It's a right royal event! British Emporium to celebrate queen's diamond jubilee in Grapevine with an open house, look-a-like contest and a jubilee lunch in June!
Grapevine, Texas April 2012: Love all things royal? Ladies, do you bear a passing resemblance to The Queen? Is your pet a Corgi? Can't make it to England this summer? Keep calm and carry on - The British Emporium - 20-year veterans of all things British in Texas - will be organizing a royal celebration in Grapevine to coincide with festivities in England so that locals residents won't feel left out!
Store events include:
- Saturday May 12th: Queen Look-a-Like Contest and Corgi Dog Show 1pm with prizes
- Saturday June 2nd: Jubilee Open House 10am-5pm. 100 goodie bags to first 100 customers (minimum purchase of $10 required; one per family; while stocks last)

According to Sheela Kadam, co-owner of The British Emporium, "The Diamond Jubilee marks The Queen's 60 years on the throne, and is a rare historic royal event, last seen in 1897 during the reign of Queen Victoria! There is tremendous interest in the royal family here. We want to ensure that our community can join in the festivities, even though we live across the pond!".
